My Berry to go Smoothie / march 1, 2016
This is my favorite smoothie to go recipe. When ever I am feeling a little under the weather , in need of energy, a boost of mood, this is what i make. I always keep frozen berrries im the fridge. I like to use berries because they are great antioxidants, they feel good to even have them in the winter and they are low in sugar.
- 1 cup of berries ( i love using half blueberries/ half strawberries)
- 1 cup of coconut water
- 2 medjool dates
- 1 tbs coconut butter
- 1/4 tsp cinamom ( great anti-bacterial, anti-cancer, mood enhancer) *
- Bee Pollen
- Coconut flakes
- Chia seeds
Herbs: depending on what i want to focus I add half a teaspoon of each. (Today I was feeling tired, from not sleeping so well, and my immune system a little compromised so I just thought a needed a boost of all all! )
ASHWAGANDHA: This is one of the most potent herbs used in Ayuverdic healing. It's and adaptogen ( meaning it helps the body adapt to stress ) promotes sleep, helps balance mood, feed your brain with fatty acids and nutrients that help you focus, and supports the immune system.
HE SHOU WU: Chinese herb that promotes longevity and beauty. ( my hair and nails grow like crazy when i take this herb regularly!)
'SHROOMS MIX: I like to make a mix of mushrooms and have them at hand to add to any of my potions. Reisi, Chaga and Cordyceps are some of my favorite, but any other kind work. Murshrooms are potent Immune regulators, i suffered from heavy allergies and I was always getting sick, with a cold, or many ither viruses. Since I am taking my Shrooms daily, my immune system has changed. I rarely get sick and my allergies are gone!
TOCOS: Is the ultimate skin food! great source of Vitamin E & D. Also, it makes your smoothie creamy and delicious.
MACA: Is a root native from the high Andes of Peru. It's also an adaptogen so it calms the nervous system and helps stabilize mood. I love it because it gives me a boost of energy and boosts my immune system. ( It is also know to be an aprodisiac!)
